“A Journey of Three Friends” is a book about hope and courage in the midst of change. Due to unexpected circumstances three small friends are forced to begin a journey. During their journey they are faced with difficulties that cause them to experience a variety of emotions. The main characters are Eli the caterpillar who is the voice of courage, Luci the ladybug who is the voice of fear and Spinner the spider who is the voice of doubt. The three find strength despite their fears and doubts and also learn to trust new friends and find hope for the future.

This book was created to help children understand their feelings while experiencing difficult life changes. It can be used by parents, caregivers and professionals to help children talk about their fears, doubts and hopes for the future.

My passion for writing children’s books grew out of an admiration for the children and families I have met in my personal and professional life who have encountered some very difficult circumstances and have not only endured but have grown stronger. It is my desire that “A Journey of Three Friends” will help children look at their own circumstances from a more hopeful perspective and grow from their experiences.

Morning Joy Publishing is a blend of passions God has placed in my heart, including, a love for children and families, and an appreciation for nature. I chose the Monarch Butterfly in the story, “A Journey of Three Friends” not only because of its beauty but because it is the Minnesota State Butterfly.
